Ozone therapy
  Ozone medical applications
Initially, Ozone was found to be an effective bactericide and fungicide during the mid-1800's, and it was first used to purify drinking water in a number of European cities. Today, over 2000 municipalities around the world- including Montreal, Paris, Los Angeles and Moscow- purify their drinking water with ozone. However, ozone was not used medically until 1915, when it was found to be an effective disinfectant of wounds and skin diseases in Germany during the First World War.
Once in the body, the Ozone (O3) or Hydrogen Peroxide (H202) breaks down into various Oxygen subspecies which contact anaerobic viruses and microbes [i.e. viruses and microbes which have the ability to live without air, as well as diseased or deficient tissue cells. It oxidizes these cells while leaving the healthy cells alone. When the body becomes saturated with these special forms of oxygen, it reaches a state of purity wherein disease microorganisms are killed, while the underlying toxicity is oxidized and eliminated.
Ozone targets diseased cells, leaving the health cells untouched. While it is possible to list over 150 different diseases and conditions Ozone can treat, here is a short list for your review:
• Cancer
• Lyme disease, AIDS, Skin infections ( bacteria, viral, fungus)
• Interstitial cystitis, chronic hepatites, herpes infections, macular degeneration
• Diabetes ( and its complications), Dental procedures
• Stroke , Peripheral vascular Disease
• Depression , Detoxification
• Arthritis, Disc herniation, Muscle tension and spasm
• Lupus , Imune System stimulation
• Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue
Administration of Ozone can be done by :
Ozonated autohemotherapy
Quasi total body exposure (transdermal)
Direct tissue administration( injected): intramusclular, subcutaneous,, intracavitary, intravaginal, intravesical, intracavitary

  Transdermal Ozone therapy
Transdermal Ozone, also known as hyperthermic ozone and transcutaneous ozone therapy, is a method in which ozone is introduced into the body via the skin while sitting in a hot steam cabinet. As the pores of the skin open as a result of being surrounded by the warm steam, ozone enters the body transdermally (i.e. via the skin). The ozone then penetrates the blood, lymph and fat. This method is not new: Dr. Kellogg first used ozone in steam saunas at his naturopathic clinic in Battle Creek, Michigan as far back as 1881. The German army used transdermal ozone, without the use of steam baths, for wound healing on the battlefields of World War I.
Transdermal application of ozone combined with hyperthermia in the steam cabinet has several applications:
1) By allowing ozone in and toxins out via the sweating process that is induced, transdermal ozone therapy is one of the most powerful methods of detoxifying and oxygenating the body in existence, increasing oxygen delivery to cells, tissues, and organs
2) Is assisting in weight loss. During a 20-40 minute session in the ozone steam cabinet the body burns up to 250-500 calories. More importantly as toxins are stored in the body's fat reserves, when the body is de-toxified the body no longer requires extraneous fat and so you are more likely to stay slim.
3) Transdermal ozone also has a very relaxing effect, improving stress and muscle tension. It is also successfully used in Pain management.
4) Improves peripheral blood circulation, reduces ischemia in cardiovascular diseases. This treatment has proved to be useful in patients with chronic limb ischemia.
5) Improves and blasting your immune system
6) This method is also useful for skin complaints (eczema, psoriasis, infections with bacteria, viruses, fungus) and improving the tone of the skin generally.
7) Stimulate regeneration of damaged joints, also reliefeing chronic pain.
Thus, in spite of a common prejudice, single ozone doses can be therapeutically used in selected human diseases without any toxicity or side effects. Moreover, the versatility and amplitude of beneficial effect of ozone applications have become evident in orthopedics, cutaneous, and mucosal infections as well as in dentistry.

  Transdermal Ozone Sauna
The Benefits of Steam Sauna and Ozone
The use of a sauna should be an important part of any detoxification program. The sauna increases the eliminative, detoxifying and cleansing capacity of the skin by stimulation of the sweat glands and also promotes healthy skin tone and texture due to increased blood circulation. Using the steam sauna with ozone allows the steam to surround the body and ozone can be introduced through the skin. Humid heat opens the pores, which allows the ozone through the skin to the bloodstream, where it can travel to the fat and lymph tissue. It is very important to cleanse the lymph tissue of toxins and the ozone/steam sauna is the easiest and best way to accomplish this.
Artificially induced hyperthermia (rising body temperature results in the destruction of bacteria and viruses) combined with heavy sweating and a cleansing effect initiated by ozone will result in elimination of toxins accumulated mainly in the lymphatic system relieving the liver from the difficult task of dealing with them. Through the centuries, men and women have used steam to purify the skin, soothe sore muscles, boost circulation and to simply relax. The combined action of moist heat and ozone cleanse the lymphatic system, which carries 90% of the body's fluids. Ozone brings oxygen to the tissues for enhanced health and vitality. The combination of steam and ozone is a natural, effective way to promote a refreshing sense of well-being. We believe that a an Ozone/Steam Sauna cabinet represents a pleasant and easy to follow form of body cleansing.
Benefits of ozone sauna:
•Relaxes and loosens muscles by reducing the buildup of lactic acid and increasing muscle flexibility.
•Oxidizes toxins so they can be eliminated through the skin, lungs, kidneys and colon.
•Boosts blood circulation, helping injured muscles to repair quicker.
•Stimulates vasodilatation of peripheral blood vessels relieving pain and speeding the healing process.
•Eliminates bacterial and viral infections of all kinds.
•Speeds up the metabolic processes of the inner organs and endocrine glands resulting in a loss of 200-450 calories in a 20-30 minute session.
It is very important to point out that the sauna used for this treatment is of the type where the individual's head protrudes from the top of the sauna, and the individual is therefore not breathing the ozone / steam mixture. Concentrations used for this type of treatment are usually approximately 30 - 40ug/ml, and the ozone is introduced into the sauna at a rate of 1/4LPM.
•increases tissue oxygenation
•increases production of ATP, (the energy used by an organism in its daily operations) - more energy and faster recovery - acceleration of wound healing and recovery from overuse and stress,
•delays the onset of anaerobic fermentation
•oxidizes lactic acid and prevents buildup, helps prevent sore muscles
•reduces swelling, bruising and pain from injuries and speeds healing
•prevents and builds up immunity stress, and musculo-tendinous strain
•increases hormone production to balanced, optimum levels
  Why Isn't Everybody Using It?
Still alternative medicine
If a mainstream therapy has a lot of side effects and targets predominately symptoms, why would it still be used and prescribed as is often the case? The answer has to do with the "business" of medicine rather than the actual practice of it. The flip side of this answer is: any alternative therapy would be mainstream if it were more profitable than the therapy it replaces.
It is not physicians who decide what is mainstream and allowable and what isn't. It is pharmaceutical companies and other members of the medical industry / establishment that make these decisions. In other words the bottom line is always best served with therapies and meds that treat symptoms and not those that cure the root cause. Another reason is that any treatment, to be accepted as mainstream, requires expensive (upwards of 2 million dollars) FDA mandatory testing - double blind cross-over and published in mainstream journals supported by big dollars. Treatments and therapies that are not looking to be exceedingly porfitable will not be able to generate this amount of needed research funding and never leave the starting gate. Efficacy is important in our health/disease care system, but not as important as profits. What could be more profitable than a therapy / treatment that eases symptoms while at the same time not curing the problem?
Ozone / oxygen therapies will always remain alternative rather than become mainstream and acceptable by all as long as the present profit paradigm in health care prevails - repulsive as this may be to physicians and all of us needing attention. Thinking outside of the crammed and limited profit box is seen sporadically and stealthfully
In a 1980 study done by the German Medical Society for Ozone Therapy, 644 therapists were polled regarding their 384,775 patients, comprising a total of 5,579,238 ozone treatments administered. There were only 40 cases of side effects noted out of this number which represents the incredibly low rate of .000007%. And remember, we talk about 1980....
  Ozonated oils
Ozonated Olive oil
When ozone is bubbled through extra virgin olive oil continuously for about three weeks, the olive oil gels into a paste or salve, holding the ozone in suspension, yet without the olive oil being oxidized. This gel has many therapeutic uses. When used during massage, the ozone enters the tissue and oxidizes lactic acid and toxins, and this has proven to be an effective treatment for many conditions.
Where the ozonated oils differ from ozonated water is in the fact that the ozonated oil, when prepared properly, can hold the ozone almost indefinitely. Ozonated oil also requires a considerably longer time to make, requiring 3 weeks to 3 months depending upon the concentration of ozone you are using, and the volume of oil you are ozonating.
One of the biggest benefits of Ozonated Olive Oil is that it helps in a great way with the healing process of a wound or skin irritation. There is another alternative which is called the Ozonated olive oil paste, this can be stored in your refrigerator and you can trust it to be healing your wounds for as long as ten years without any side effects whatsoever. It has a multipurpose role in healing your wounds. It can take care of wounds, cuts, burns, rashes formed due to nappy rash, ringworms, bed sores etc.,
What are the advantages?
As of 1985, considering all the countries that allow the use of OZONE (O3) therapy, and of all the thousands of patients successfully treated, there has not been one single death or serious reaction reported clearly related to the use of OZONE.
Ozone (O3) Therapy Treatment for HIV, Hepatitis, Herpes Virus ..."A pilot study between scientists at the Department of National Health and Welfare, the Department of National Defence, the Canadian Animal Disease Research institute and Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, proved loud and clear that .. "... ozone protected all simian subjects from infection by cleaning all viruses from the blood." - Medical Science News, April 1993, Canadian Medical Association, Canada
"Every new theory passes through 3 phases:First, it is attacked and declared absurd. Then it is admitted it is true and obvious, but insignificant. To the end it is recognized the real importance and its detractors demand the honor to have discovered it."- William James
